ApexFS can ensure your Safety at Height Compliance with Regular Inspections, Maintenance, and Certification
Working at height poses significant risks. To minimise these dangers, it's crucial to prioritise the inspection, maintenance, and certification of your height safety equipment. Regular checks help identify potential issues before they become safety hazards, ensuring your equipment remains reliable and compliant with industry
standards.
The General Application Regulations 2007 Part 4 Regulation 119 outlines the requirement to inspect work at height equipment.
“Work equipment exposed to conditions causing deterioration that is liable to result in danger must be inspected at regular intervals and also where any exceptional circumstances have occurred that are liable to jeopardise its safety. These inspections are important in ensuring that the equipment can continue to be used
safely and that any deterioration is detected and remedied before it results in unacceptable risks.”
Who is Responsible for Safety at Height?
Building Owners: The building owner is ultimately responsible for providing a safe place of work for those who need to work at height on their premises.
Facilities Managers: Facilities Managers are charged with the responsibility of maintaining the safety and compliance of a building by the owner.
Employers / Contractors: Employers and contractors have a duty of care regarding the safety of their employees. They must provide appropriate fall protection equipment and ensure their employees are competent through training and supervision.
Employees: Employees themselves are responsible for their own safety and the safety of those around them including work colleagues and the public. They must use the height safety equipment provided, as instructed and report any defects or
safety concerns.
